Sylar Release Cover Of Linkin Parks “Points Of Authority” Following Chester Benningtons Suicide

By  |

News broke a few days ago outlining that Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington had passed away. As reported by TMZ, Law enforcement sources explained that the Linkin Park singer had hung himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estas in Los Angeles. His body was reportedly discovered just before 9am on Thursday morning.

Following his tragic passing, a number of musicians and bands from around the world, including Hopeless Records own Queens metalcore outfit, Sylar, released  heart warming tributes and covered hit tracks by the band.

Sylar posted a cover of Linkin Parks hit track “Points Of Authority” alongside the caption:

“Several months back during some recording sessions, we recorded a cover of Linkin Park‘s “Points of Authority” for fun. The band were maybe our biggest influence in terms of how we are as a band and today, we’re releasing that cover to pay tribute to our hero, Chester Bennington. We’re also going to be donating 100% of the net proceeds to an amazing organization called NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). If you need help, you are NOT alone. Seek help, and talk to someone. Last but not least, be there for each other.”
