Ex Of Mice & Men Vocalist Austin Carlile To Fly To The States For Further Treatment On “Concerning Issues”

By  |

We first saw sight of ex Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile’s health struggles when he revealed an update on how his condition was progressing to his loyal fans via his personal Instagram story earlier last week.

“Been in hospital the past few days, was taken by helicopter to San Jose, Costa Rica yesterday morning…”

“My team discovered 2 cysts growing on my low spine. I head into the operation room at 6 PM today…”

According to Carlile, medical professionals in Costa Rica had discovered two cysts on his spine which would require him to have emergency surgery.

Following the social media updates, Carlile also reached out to his fans and asked them to pray for him as he faces this troubling time head on.

“It has been a rough 8 months, not out of the woods yet, the fight continues on, I must as well. Please keep me in your prayers this evening,” he said.

The news of the unsuccessful surgery broke when Carlile posted to his Instagram stories earlier today.

The Instagram story read:
“My surgery last night was not successful…”

“My medical team is keeping me hospitalized and I will be going BACK under tomorrow morning for yet another surgery…”

Following this, a few days ago Carlile revealed that he would need to go for more surgery, as his emergency surgery after locating cysts on his spine that took place originally was unsuccessful.

Now, following the second surgery Carlile had on the condition, Carlile has once again posted medical updates to his Instagram story saying that he’s been “finally released.”

“After many tests, and 2 surgeries, I will now be flying to the states this Tuesday so that my specialists may further address the concerning issues they have discovered during this past weeks hospital stay…” Said Carlile.

“Even in the face of death, I will not be afraid, for our god will never abandon me.” he posted following the explanation.

Carlile has not yet gone into detail about what had been discovered during his stay, but we wish him all the best regardless.

The ex Of Mice & Men frontman had announced his departure from Of Mice & Men in late December of 2016. Following the news, Aaron Pauley, Alan Ashby, Phil Manansala and Valentino Arteaga announced that they would continue as a four-piece band, and have since released new music without Carlile.

We will continue to post updates on Carlile’s condition as they’re posted. Our thoughts are with Austin and his family in this tough time.
