Paramore Reveal That The Annual Parahoy! Cruise Will Go Ahead In 2018

A few days ago we reported on Paramore’s newest controversial album “After Laughter.”

When looking back to where it all began for Paramore, Williams talked about finding her own feet in a male-dominated scene. “If we were booked on a bill with all dudes that were twice as old as us, I wanted to be better than any of them,” Williams told the New York Times. “I didn’t care if they had a penis or not. I had to be great at my job,” She continued.

Williams also spent time opening up on her own personal struggles she faced while creating After Laughter, stating that she started to question “everything” about the band.

“We were down another member — same old story almost from Day 1,” she continues.

“It made me question everything—am I doing something wrong? You read things that people say about you and eventually you just think, ‘Oh, I must be some kind of diva bitch.’ I know that’s not me, but it caused a lot of self-doubt,” She continues.

Since the release of Paramore’s new almost controversial single “Hard Times,” Williams has said that she has been inspired by artists like Cherry Glazerr, Bleached and Tacocat, and explained Paramore’s new musical direction with the simple words of “We’ve gotten to a point with out new music where we don’t really want to head bang anymore.”

“A lot of life happened,” Williams said, as she reflected on her personal struggles and the controversial progression of Paramore. “I couldn’t imagine putting something on an album that says ‘life’s great, everything’s cool, party with me.”

Following the release of After Laughter Paramore also announced that their Parahoy! cruise will return once again in 2018 from April 6-10. It’s set to sail from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas. You can also register for pre-sale or view the price.

The full confirmed 2018 Parahoy! lineup is still currently unknown. However, the previous Parahoy! cruise events have included the likes of mewithoutYou, Paramore, New Found Glory and Chvrches and many more.
