Awhile back we reported on Brendon Urie – the lead singer of Panic! At The Disco scoring a position in a broadway musical called “Kinky Boots”, a dream of Urie’s since he was a child. The talented singer-song writer will play a factory boss in the musical that will begin later this month.

“It’s a familiar thing, I guess, but it’s such a different world. I’m so excited to jump in,” Urie told The Associated Press when asked about his feelings towards the new career direction.

“This is a step in an exciting direction for me because i’ve always dreamed of being a part of Broadway in some way.” Urie continued.

Urie began by helping build theater sets during his time in high school. Urie also stated that he’s feeling a mixture of emotions as he gets closer to his May 26th Kinky Boots debut at the Hirschfeld Theatre. “I’m terrified. I’m excited, anxious. I can’t wait to get started on it,” says Urie. “I’m mostly just curious, really.”

Urie is also now preparing to adjust to an eight-show-a-week schedule on Broadway and adjust to his time away from his band, Panic! At The Disco who has toured extensively since the release of their last album “Death Of A Bachelor.”

“I’d seen a couple of other musicals and this one just made the most sense to me,” he said. “I said, ‘I want to be a part of this magic that I’m watching.’” Says urie.

Yesterday, Brendon Urie posted images to his Twitter of him being fitted for a dazzling pair of sparkly red stilettos in lead up to his major Broadway role.

Following confirming his position in the Broadway musical, Urie stated that he spoke with pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen, who starred in “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” on Broadway back in 2014, who told him it was the best time she’s ever had.

“I want to give it a 110 percent. As much as I can,” Urie said.
